Dear friends in Christ,
For nearly two hundred years, Catholic parochial schools have played a pivotal role in the lives of Catholic families in the United States. Today, Catholic schools are needed as much as ever in order to form young people in the Catholic faith so that in addition to core academics, they will understand better where they come from, experience that they are loved by God and learn how to find true happiness as they discern their mission in life.
That is why I ask that you support our Catholic Schools Appeal on the weekend of Sept. 27th. We all know that parents who choose a Catholic education often need to make tough choices to attend the school of their choice. And our teachers and staff are also making sacrifices to make that option of a Catholic school education as affordable as possible. Your gift to the Catholic Schools Appeal offers tangible support and encouragement to families, teachers, staff and volunteers who know first-hand the value of a Catholic education for children today.
In every one of our schools, visitors are greeted by the words “Christ is the reason for this school.” We do not take those words lightly. Each time I visit with students, I meet young people who are developing a deeper relationship with Jesus and His Church, and who inspire others by their witness to their faith. Your financial support of our Catholic schools is an investment in that legacy of faith.
