The Vicar General assists the Bishop in the administration of the Diocese.
 
The Vicar General works collaboratively with the directors of several diocesan departments and has immediate oversight over the following departments:

Office of Marriage, Family Planning & Respect Life
African Ministry
Hispanic Ministry
Youth Ministries & Young Adults
Office of Facilities Management
Office of Victims Services

Office of Religious Education
Lay Parish Leadership
Ongoing Priestly Formation
Evangelization Committee
